Our representatives will help you in the selection and configuration of the products. You will then have full access to our technical catalog and the support of our engineering department.
Our site team is specialized in the installation and renovation of heavy residential and institutional buildings. You will then be able to offer your customers innovative, high-performance fenestration elements adapted to your projects.
Our team is here to help you and give you sound advice on the choice of your doors and windows. You can send your quote request and your plans to info@fenergic.com and one of our representatives will contact you.
Fenergic is first and foremost a manufacturer of fenestration products. We can recommend a specialized partner for the installation of your windows, but this service is not part of our offer unless it is a major or institutional project.
Close the door completely. Lift the handle up. Turn the latch/key to the right. To unlock, turn the latch to the left and lower the handle.
Fenergic products are rigorously tested at the end of the manufacturing process. Obviously, after their installation, the normal movements of your building may cause the window to vary in squareness. Don't worry : Fenergic windows are designed to be adjusted after installation. Refer to the Fenergic window adjustment document.
The window must be able to open without a key, tools or special knowledge so that the occupant can easily use this door or window as a means of escape.
If there is no sprinkler in the room, the window must have an unobstructed opening of at least 0.35 m2 (3.8 sq. ft.) with no dimension less than 380 mm (15 in.).
The window must open in the direction of travel, i.e., outward, and be capable of being held open without additional support to allow for escape in an emergency.
The minimum opening size to meet the standard must be one of the following two sizes: 35Hx33L (889 mm X 838 mm) or 21Hx49L (534 mm X 1245 mm). It is important to consult the regulations of your municipality. Some municipalities have their own requirements that may be more stringent than those required by the NBC. For example, Quebec City requires a minimum clearance of 600 mm instead of 592 mm.
Checking and replacing the caulking around your doors and windows will ensure that the products are watertight. The life of the caulking varies according to the product used and the exposure to the weather. Call in a professional to replace the caulking, or do it yourself if the frame is easily accessible and you have the necessary tools.
Be careful not to block the drip holes in the windows, and make sure the holes are clean and unobstructed by dirt and insects.
Tilt-and-turn windows and doors require rigorous periodic maintenance to ensure that they function properly and are airtight. You may have to adjust the horizontal and vertical paintwork up to 3 times a year, depending on the season and exposure to the weather.
The PVC window and door frame is sensitive to expansion and contraction caused by the significant temperature fluctuation between winter and summer seasons. Consult the adjustment manual for more information.
Regular maintenance of the hardware and the window will prevent premature wear and tear of the components and prolong its useful life. The hardware is designed to provide normal operation for the life of the window. Hardware is protected and enhanced by special coatings and lubricants.
Hardware should be inspected and cleaned of any build-up once a season. This is a light cleaning to remove stuck-on dust. The crank and other exposed components should be cleaned with water and a mild detergent using a soft cloth.
Components exposed when the window is open, including the strike plates, should be cleaned to remove oil residue and dirt. Rollers and keepers (metal) should be wiped with a cloth coated with petroleum jelly.
Sliding bars, slides and operator arms should be sprayed with silicone. Refer to the Fenergic maintenance guide for recommended and prohibited products.
Be careful not to force the operator to open or close a window, to avoid premature wear of the window! Make sure that there is nothing blocking its operation and that the sash is not opened more than the operator allows.
It is recommended that screens be removed and stored for the winter season. Like blinds and curtains, the presence of interior screens increases the likelihood of condensation forming in the glass of your windows and doors.
When putting up or taking down your window screens, use a side-to-side motion, not a top-to-bottom motion. Make sure you get over the opening mechanism before inserting the screen frame into the side of the window.
The door, patio door and window screens designed by Fenergic are easily adjustable. Consult the Fenergic screen adjustment document.
Condensation on sealed units is a natural and normal phenomenon. Consult the CMHC document to know the physical principles behind its appearance. You will find in this document the different sources of humidity in your home.
The colder the outside temperature, the more humidity contained in the air will stick to the glass. Increasing the temperature inside only temporarily transforms the condensation into vapor. This will redeposit on your windows as soon as the temperature returns to normal.
N'Remember, it is not the windows that “create” the water: it sticks to their surface, because they are the least warm element of the wall.
A series of simple measures can be adopted to ensure a minimum of condensation on the interior or exterior surface of your glass.
The simplest is to install an air exchanger. Alternatively, you can open a window for a short period of time to create a circulation of ambient air in the residence. Running the bathroom fan or stove fan is also a good method of air circulation.
Look for and identify things in the home that increase humidity, such as: occupants, pets, plants, dryer, hanging clothes to dry, dishwasher, hair dryer, closed curtains and blinds, screens.
For your comfort, the humidity level should not exceed 39% in the fall and be reduced to 14% when the outside temperature is -30°C.
If your hygrometer indicates a normal humidity level, but you still have problems with condensation, it may be necessary to calibrate your unit. Consult the CMHC document for a simple and easy way to calibrate your unit.
If you still have condensation and your humidity level is controlled, do not hesitate to contact your building contractor to have him evaluate the situation.
If you feel a draft near your doors and windows during the first year of purchase, please contact us.
The draft may be the result of a manufacturing defect or poor installation by your contractor. We will be able to evaluate and, if possible, make the necessary corrections on site.
In subsequent years, drafts may be caused by loss of insulation from around the window or door, broken, defective or worn caulking, or broken or worn weather stripping. Refer to the seasonal and annual maintenance information available in the maintenance guide.
No. Unless it is caused by thermal breakage during the first year of your window's life, broken or cracked glass is not covered by the warranty. However, if you have replaced the glass in an existing window within the last year and it is thermal breakage, then you will be covered by the warranty.
Yes, we can replace the sealed units of windows manufactured and sold by Fenergic. There are two possibilities available to you. If you still have the information on the original contract, we can find the size of the glass and deliver a new thermos that you will replace yourself.
You can also specify in your request if you prefer that the service team come and measure the thermos to be replaced and/or install it.
The cost of the new glass, transportation and technician travel will be communicated to you before the replacement glass is put into production.
To request a replacement, please fill out the form available on the service.fenergic.com website.
First, check that the hinge mechanism is still attached to the window. Sometimes when the sash is opened beyond the maximum recommended extension, the hinge connection button comes off the latch located under the window sash. Remove the screen. Manually return the hinge to the closed position. Manually return the sash to the closed position. Try the handle again to see if it works. You may have to replace the hinge knob in the latch of the sash.

Check that the patio door track is not obstructed by ice, dirt, rocks or toys.
Clean the track with a mild soap and wipe it clean of water and residue. Check under the door to make sure there is nothing obstructing the patio door's sliding wheel.
Not necessarily. It is a phenomenon that is found more frequently since the size of the windows is significantly larger than in the past. It is caused by intense cold. The temperature differential between the exterior and interior glass is such that it creates a deflection of the glass in the center of the window.
In short, the space between the two panes is smaller, resulting in temporary insulated condensation. If your fog cloud is still present at the end of spring, it is a case of a thermos loosening.
